See You Down The Road

After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

Does anyone know if RPM is still open for business; the website link is defunct.

Never been there and I have no desire to go.
From every article and story I have read about that event it is nothing more than a cluster f**k up there.
It’s more of an “Look at me be an idiot with my car” than a car show from what I have read.

Looks great Jeff; give it some time winter isn’t over yet unfortunately.
I spend my time during the winter in the nice war workshop working on my R/C planes.

The grill on the Stude is about the only thing original to the truck; and some of the cab.

Wouldn’t it be sweet if these prices held into the summer for cruising time?
    I doubt it.

    Jeff,

Good memory; yep I had a dark green 37 Chevy coupe.
I got back into street rodding here about 5 years ago; bought a 48 Merc then sold it to get the 36 Chevy.
It’s a slant back so it has no trunk.
We will have to get together next year and talk because there are a number of things I would like to get done on the car next spring before hitting the shows for 2016.

SWEET Tell your dad Mike Pirkl said hello; I still remember you and your brother Tim when we would go to car shows together as a club; those we fun times.
Hope to see you and your shop in the near future Jeff; and best of luck with the new business.

Any relation to Mike Zapp; I knew him back when the Madison Area Street Rods were around.

I say we should keep it; and encourage more of the users here to use it.

I use it myself when I want to attend a show I have never been to before in order to see how the show was run and what kind of vehicles turn out for it.
I especially like it when there are pictures posted so I know what the area will be like when I get there; shade or not, parking lot, grass, etc.

I haven’t posted much this year myself simply because I have not been to many shows this year.

With September just around the corner and the car show season dwindling down to just a few shows here in the Midwest lets put this on everyone’s to do list for next year to post about the shows they went to next year and make 2016 a banner year for RATE THE SHOW.

I have been going to car shows since 1981; when I got into street rods. I have seen a lot of bad etiquette by the public at these shows. It doesn’t matter if you have stickers or signs on your vehicle that says do not touch; there is that small percentage out there that think it applies to others besides themselves.
Having a 1930’s car with running boards seems to pull these bad individuals like bees to honey to my car. I cannot tell you the number of times I had kids and some adults step up onto my running boards to look inside the vehicle. And hey it’s not like the car is 6 feet off the ground and hard to peer inside of it.
But the one that took the cake was years ago I was at a show with some club members when I saw a spectator open the door and climb inside of one of the members street rod.
He didn’t see me as he crawled inside of it but when I went to the car and looked at him and asked; “Hey is this your car?” and he replied “No”
I then said “Then get your sorry ass out of it before my buddy comes back and pounds the $%^& out of you.”
The gentlemen quickly retreated out of the vehicle and disappeared into the crowd.

Has anyone rated a show yet for 2015?
I have seen LOTS of comments about Automotion but nothing for 2015 in thee Rate the Show.
