I didn’t hit up any fireworks spectacles this year. It was nice to have the 4th off, I got caught up on stuff arond the house and played with my dog. Later in the day I went to the video store and rented some movies.
Last Saturday night a friend had a burning party, we got to watch fireworks from Cross Plains, Barneveld, and Hollandale! Sometimes living in the rolling hills of Blue Mounds has its advantages

moparkid25ParticipantI think I’ll hit up the Fat Cat Luau at QSL on saturday for awhile, then get home and get some sleep so I can go to the MOPAR Happening Sunday.

moparkid25ParticipantI spoke with a coordinator this evening from the show. He explained to me how my car was judged, and I explained to him what I saw and thought would have been fair. Although nothing could have been changed, I still feel I got the short end of the stick. Fortunately, I’m more calm than I was last night and this morning icon_cheesygrin.gif
Don’t know if I’ll go next year or not, I’ll have to wait and see.

moparkid25ParticipantSpecific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – Easy for me, I only live 10 miles from Blanchardville.
Parking Location – Ok, easy to get to and plenty of room around the cars
Class Organization – It would have been nice if people would just park in the class they were supposed to, but I seen some cars parked out of class just because they wanted to be by there buddy. I guess you can do that when you have money…
Trophies & Prizes – I don’t know, I got screwed on the judging and never got one.
Food – Brought my own
Entertainment – Ok, better than the lady in Monroe
Judging – F, F, and another F! I don’t know who judged my car, or who had the balls to shut my trunk lid, but I always enjoy going to a judged show and seeing filthy cars win just because the owner is a “collector”. I had 10 hours in cleaning my car, only to be slapped in the face. If I don’t get a call back from the coordinators, I’ll never go again. I’m not looking for a pity trophy, just juding to be fair. I don’t think Marshall got an award with his mustang either, and his was one of the nicest cars in his class.
Dash Plaque – got one
Variety of Cars – good
Bathrooms – They need more plastic potties
Weather – sucked, too hot
Trophy Presentation Timing – This is always screwed up and there never ready. You would think after putting this show on for 21 years they would have it figured out by now.
Entry Fee – pre reg $6, otherwise $12

Do you have any photo’s or video from this night? I haven’t seen anything posted in the photo gallery yet…

No one was more embarrassed than me as it seemed that I was the only member of the car show committee that was instantly aware of the mistake. My humble apologies to all.Jim’s name and car are in the computerized database from last year’s show and the announcer read the wrong name and wrong car number of the actual winner. We realize that we will need to purge the database for next years show.
MarshallWow….
I would get that cleared up. Like last year, computers and car shows obviously don’t work well together.
Blanchardville is giving away a Jim Normington Best GM award in remembrance of Jim. He was a super guy and I’m glad I had the pleasure to know him.

moparkid25ParticipantYeah, that’s a Challenger, not a Charger.

Moparkid, when did you get there? I don’t remember seeing your car. That was Jon’s purple Challenger on the end, nice car:

I parked my cuda down in the end near the balck cuda and the gold 68 charger r/t clone. Later a friend of mine showed up with his roadrunner and parked next to mine. It’s always cool to see two bad a$$ Mopars sitting together with those 6pak hoods thumbsup.gif

I spoke with John from QSL tonight, and he is going to have a feature MOPAR night sometime in July thumbsup.gif I was impressed to see a few mopars besides mine there tonight, it’s always nice to look at new stuff you didn’t know was around.

moparkid25ParticipantSo explain to me then how a fully restored ’68 Hemi Coronet (that should have been on a trailer) only scores 87 out of 100 points, and my ’69 Charger R/T of the same condition with the exception of the Coronet being painted underneath only scored a 79 out of 100. To beat all, a black GM something with swirl marks scored higher… icon_scratch.gif Your “mopar” guy (whom I know) judged these cars…I’m not trying to cause any issues, just stating my opinions. I was not happy with this show and how the judging took place, so I choose not to go this year, nor am I trying to deter anyone from attending this show. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who got salty over this, but maybe the only one who won’t keep his mouth shut Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif
I’m glad to see that your club cars won’t be in class for judging. I’ve been to a few shows where club members win and that really pisses people off. For example, the Don Miller MOPAR show, they did this a few years ago and now a lot of local’s won’t even go. They did it again this year, who knows what will happen dontknow.gif
I hope the WSC’s get a great turnout because Angel Park is a decent place to have a show.

moparkid25ParticipantQuote:I got an update from the QSL owner today – apparently the General Lee came this last Saturday instead of this Thursday because that was the only day that he could bring it… its really too bad!! crybaby2.gifOh well, I guess I’ll have to settle for seeing it on tv….
icon_headbang.gif
moparkid25ParticipantIt’s on Saturday, same time as Sun Prairie…for those of us that choose not to attend there. This is what the flyer reads:
CRUISE TO KEYESER
Classic car, tractor, and motorcycle show
1979 and olderWhere: Downtown Keyeser (Jct’s of County C and DM)
When: June 30th, 2007 10a-4p
Info: Gary @ 920-992-3703 or Ron 608-575-9179No trophies, no awards, no charge, just fun!!
If you can drive it, bring it!icon_headbang.gif
moparkid25ParticipantAlso, I recieved a flyer last tuesday for a show and shine in Keyeser, just north of Sun Prairie on County C. Free food, and free other stuff also but no judging, just look pretty thumbsup.gif
icon_headbang.gif
moparkid25ParticipantBeing somewhat of a Dukes encyclopeida, I’ll have to make sure I hit up quaker steak thursday night! I’ll pass on the Sun Prairie show, I was not impressed with anything at that show from the folks that put it on, especially the judging.
Amigo, I checked out the cruise night at 5th quarter a couple weeks ago. It was small, not a lot of cars there but the bar has a nice atmoshpere. The food is good and is priced right, and they have Miller Lite specials on Wedsnesdays…but if you ask me you could probably run your car on that stuff!!
icon_headbang.gif
moparkid25ParticipantYeah that original/restored ’61-’70 class needs to be divided up more. In my class (modified ’71-85) there was only 5 cars-4 chevy’s and my mopar dontknow.gif Maybe they should break up and give the survivor’s there own class, and split the class D, maybe 61-66 and 67-70?
