Exactly like that one
thekcarguyParticipantTurn offs for me when I am looking at a car, is when someone has smoked in it and has left burn holes, My 96 Corsica was smoked in when I got it, guy burned the plastic ash tray, another thing is if the headliner has fallen down, I know it can be fixed but I just hate paying out the money to replace headliner, Rust is another turn off.
thekcarguyParticipantThat is the key, use a light coat, When I was doing mine I sprayed it at least 15 inches away. Before I did it I used some old crap I had around and I sprayed it too thick. I found out that if you use a metallic color it looks factory.
thekcarguyParticipantsimple solution.. Take it to the pavement…..there said and done
thekcarguyParticipanthmm I’ll take that offer sir  81 needs one good last run before I put her to rest for the winter. This now means I have to move cars around again…as I put it behind my 88
thekcarguyParticipantMight have to make it to this show and declare it as my last one for the season..
what are the classes? is there a class for the Iacocca Mobile?
thekcarguyParticipanthmm….I like the price on that car…but I wonder how the floors are and what type of motor it has…
thekcarguyParticipantWell I actually spotted the car about 6 years ago, or was it 8 I can’t remember, it then had 40,000 miles. The owners mother had the car then. Then last year the mother gave the car to her daughter who sadly drove it daily so it got surface rust..Just this year her mother passed away and she since had gotten a new car. There is a funny story that goes along with this car. The original owner never purchased a new car in her life, her husband did all the work. She purchased it shortly after he died. She had no clue how to write the check out, so the dealership people helped her. GTO MAN you are right, nothing beats 56,000 miles, it drives like brand new and it is quiet. In all honesty it is the best K-car I have drove in my life time. She wants 1,000 cash, but due to the engine noise the surface rust, headliner sagging and the air conditioner not working I think I am going to offer 750 or 800 for the car. Other than the ticking issue the motor is smooth as glass.
oh and as for finding it, last year I saw it at the mall and I left a note with my number on the windshield, the lady called me and said the mirror broke, so I repaired it for her. and I have done a couple of oil changes on it as well..hoping she would give me the car. But that is not the case…I will get pics as soon as I can.
thekcarguyParticipantMy plans for the winter..I don’t have much garage space, so I seek out new parts or items on ebay..
thekcarguyParticipantNice car but it is just a 4 door dodge charger..I see plenty of them daily on the highway…I know how it goes with owning a 4 door.. But of course mine is 31 years old and saved a company from going under… I was at lancaster a few weeks ago and there was a 95 Dodge Stelth in my class, I happened to have my 88 Aries that day. Well the Judges spent at least a good solid 10 minutes looking my car over. They headed on over to the Stealth and practically just glanced and checked off the sheet.. Guess who took home the gold that day…
To me the car needs more chrome, optional chrome wheels would really help it out a lot. Right now it looks kinda blah. But dress up those tires and add chrome and you should be in top shape. Another thing have dealership items.
For my 1981 Reliant I got an original K-car’s are coming T shirt, 1981 Aries hot wheels wagon, Chrysler Paper Dealership floor mat’s that say Chrysler customer Care. as well as motor trend magazine, and news paper clippings..
Judges like a display most of the time…
want a 4 door that get’s attention? Try this…http://www.wiscollectorcar.com/photogallery/albums/userpics/12479/523/GEDC1614.JPG
thekcarguyParticipantI look at it this way..the car is only as good as you want it to be….:woohoo:
thekcarguyParticipantI used to get, the is that allowed in here? When I first started showing K’s..I’m fine with newer car’s being in the show. just have a place to put them in..rather than having a class like Plattville which is 1981-2002…its just not right to stick old cars with the new…
thekcarguyParticipantGotta agree with Moparkid as well, im fine with newer cars, as long as they have their own class..take Plattville dairy day’s show..1981-2002..isn’t that just a little bit to much?
thekcarguyParticipantmy two cents…have the class go by decade..I mean who wants to have 1986 and newer? I mean who wants a brand new mustang competing against say in my opinion a Surviving all original car….I mean there is no comparison there..
thekcarguyParticipantThank you that helps out alot
