At least it is going in the right direction. Even at this price the oil companies are still screwing consumers. Too bad there isn’t a way to get back at them.November 5, 2005 at 9:15 pm in reply to: What do you do for winter storage of your collector cars? #20303GTO ManModeratorFor our cars we first clean them from top to bottom and change oil. Big Block has a 2.5 car garage that he had built a couple of years ago at the back of his lot. We insulated the walls and put on drywall. Then blew insulation in the ceiling, I think about 12 inches. Then we hung a furnace from the ceiling. Try to keep the temp a minimum of 48 but that can vary of course. During the winter we try and start them about once every month or two. Last year kept two on dollies so they could be pushed to one side of the garage. This year since we don’t have any big projects planned will leave them off dollies so that they can be more easily started. I also keep a couple of cars in my garage which is part of the house. One of these days I would like to have a garage built on my lot also.
GTO ManModeratorHere is the site for California Car Covers. http://www.calcarcover.com/
There is alot of nice stuff on that site. I need to buy a cover for that GTX and I think I will get it from them.
GTO ManModeratorI see the party turned into the same old thing. I don’t know if there is any way they can stop it.
GTO ManModeratorLooks like the season is pretty much over in the upper Midwest.
GTO ManModeratorWe have covers for all of the cars. Have had them for a number of years. Need to replace one this year, mainly because it is too coarse I believe. Haven’t had to buy one for a number of years now. We haven’t had a problem with any of them wearing thin though. I would call the company and ask them about it. They might just replace it. I receive a catalog every so often from California Car Covers or something like that. They seem to be way too expensive.

GTO ManModeratorThese days more and more models are getting attention as collectible cars. It is mainly a result of the increase of prices of mainstream collectibles such as muscle cars. The prices have far outpaced the ability of people to afford them.

GTO ManModeratorFun place to visit. ALot of nice cars for sale, in most price ranges. Usually on the expensive side. Nice way to spend a day.
GTO ManModeratorUsually the first year has a number of problems, takes a couple of years to get the kinks ironed out. I would never purchase the first year of a new model. On some models I would never purchase any year.
GTO ManModeratorGreat place for auto art. Have bought a couple of prints there. They also travel with their trailer to swap meets.

Post your load…….it works pretty good.
Thanks for the information.
GTO ManModeratorIt was nice to meet you and all the other people I met at the shows this year. I learned alot also, and that is one of the things that make it interesting. This year the weather was good for most of the shows, except for some hot ones, rain was at a minimum. It will be interesting to see what shows fall by the wayside, if new ones take their place and what new ideas the car show planners come up with next year.
It sounds like you have some auto related projects planned. That always makes the winter seem shorter.
It will be interesting how much activity the forum and site has over the winter. I think it has done very well up to this point, and I don’t see any reason why that shouldn’t continue. I think we have some improvements planned that will be nice additions. I am ready to start putting the calender together for 2006. Depending on what is going on we would like to bring a couple of cars to Quaker Steak on Sunday. It will certainly be one of the last opportunities of the year.
