I’m also going up Friday afternoon and staying the weekend. This will be the first time I’ve ever shown my ‘Cuda, I’m really excited for once.
I wonder if the Dells nightlife will be as crazy as last year? I know I have the same room at the Shamrock I had last year (with a hottub) and I filled the trashcan with water to make a complimentary “bleach box” on the street for the crusiers thumbsup.gif Last year on Saturday night it was just out of control, but a great time!

moparkid25ParticipantI’m glad it didn’t bomb as bad as I thought it would.
However, I’ll be damned if I want my car in the midst of all those walking down the street, bikes, rollerbladers, etc. I agree that many probably didn’t adhere to rules of the car shows, but most who frequent that area don’t realize the effort it takes to keep a vehicle in show condition.
I’m not defending them, I’m the first one to make a little kid cry when they touch my car, or drip ice cream on it, or there parents touch it.

moparkid25ParticipantTypical left wing event-the cars are ok as long as its the ones THEY like.
I talked with cirlcetrack yesterday about this, some vehicles that were allowed entry into this show I have seen, and are not the nicest cars in the local show circuit, where others with extremely nice cars (such as hers) were declined entry.
I’m usually a “glass is half full” optimistic kinda guy, but I’ve a pretty good feeling this show is gonna bomb.

moparkid25ParticipantQuote:Did anyone check out that red, ‘cuda convertible Hemi car? The car was originally built with a 318?, but was replaced with a Hemi motor. Asking price was reduced from 95K down to 80K. With what these cars are doing at the major auctions, it seems 80K would be a bargain.Marshall
Leave it to Ford guy to not know that car was a Dodge Challenger Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif
That car was kinda rough, 80K for that was too much. Now, the ’71 Hemi ‘cuda clone that was for sale and the ’70 440+6 ‘cuda next to it were the two nicest cars for sale. I happen to know both the owners of these cars and they are great machines!

moparkid25ParticipantJefferson is TOMORROW!!! This is the first time in a few years I’ve actually looked forward to going. House of Horsepower has a great booth directly across from the car corral this year and will be displaying some employee masterpieces along with a Goodmark sheetmetal display, current projects, flyers, and the staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
Oh, did I mention the Racestopper Girls will be there with HOH too? thumbsup.gif
moparkid25ParticipantQuote:My thanks, also, to Garibaldi and GTO Man! thumbsup.gifI have been excited about this one for several months, now. I am taking that first Thursday off from work to spruce up the car and get it ready to cruise out to Middleton! This will hopefully turn out to be an excellent weekend as Spring Jefferson will that following Saturday and Sunday. Anyone seen the long term weather forecast yet? We are certainly deserving of some good weather, for a change.

So, how’s gettin’ that car cleaned up for tonight treating you today? icon_cheesygrin.gif

moparkid25ParticipantQuote:Its a great idea, too bad a Madison station doesn’t do something like that. Oh thats right Madison is not a car town, maybe they will do a bicycle show.If Madison had a show it would promote the Toyota Prius and Honda Element car shows, along with bicycles and wind powered skateboards. Maybe if they did have show like that, they could make a panel of judges consisting of Mayor Dave (aka Hitler), Ben Masel (Weedstock), and Brenda Konklin (city alderman who don’t take care of her own property).
Gosh, for not living in Madison I sure care a lot about there politics… dontknow.gif

moparkid25ParticipantI had the pleasure to know Jim myself, I don’t know anyone who could say a bad word about him.
moparkid25ParticipantQuote:Gas was high last summer and it didn’t stop us from going anywhere, we even drove to TN and back in June and plan on doing it again this year. I don’t like paying the high gas prices, but I won’t let it ruin my summer fun. This is true. Unfortunately, I don’t ever see the price of fuel getting any cheaper. Like other unwanted things in life, I’m just going to have to adapt.
I may have to cut back on the beers to afford gas, but there’s nothing wrong with that!

moparkid25ParticipantQuote:article in Saturdays paper:State Street Classic Car Show May 12
The Capital Times :: BUSINESS :: C8
Saturday, April 14, 2007The inaugural Cars on State Classic Car Show, in which State Street will be opened up to more than 50 classic cars, has been set for Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The cars will include everything from vintage Model Ts to classic muscle cars. Organizers, including Hawk Schenkel, owner of Hawk’s Bar & Grill, are looking for cars more than 25 years old.
Wisconsin football coach Bret Bielema and auto expert Matt Joseph will be among the celebrity judges.
The entry deadline is April 20. To enter a car, go to http://www.carsonstate.com or call Hawk’s at 256-4295.
WTF does Bret Bieliema know about judging classic cars? Matt Joseph will pick the european he likes best because he’s not an american car guy anyhoo. Many reasons not to go to this show, #1 it sounds disappointing #2 I like to see shows judged fair (as some may know) #3 although it is a great setting for a car show, I think they went about planning it the wrong way.
I’m not going.

moparkid25ParticipantThat’s the Democrats for ya…Keep raising your taxes so the people on welfare and government aid can live better than you.

moparkid25ParticipantI couldn’t agree with you more!! This is one of the many reasons I refuse to live in the city!

moparkid25ParticipantQuote:Was it actually snowing today? I heard there was a chance but I didn’t think it would actually happen! w00t.gifYeah it snowed…but you had to get out of bed before noon to see it Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif

icon_headbang.gif
moparkid25ParticipantYeah, that’s a good idea….NOT!!!!
Let’s give up another one like the last two (Vietnam and Desert Storm). We are the most powerful country on the planet and yet our own citizens can’t support the President’s decisions.
I will openly say I am no fan of GW, but I am a proud, registered Republican. I support my country, my troops, and my leader so I can enjoy freedom and not live in a world of disaster.
I’m really tired of these anti-war rallies, Cindy Sheehan (don’t get me started on her either, her son that died in combat she gave up her parental rights when he was a toddler), and this nonsense that our country needs a date to remove troops from the middle east.
Let’s not forget that they attacked us FIRST on OUR OWN SOIL!
No one wants war, but you can’t make an omlet without breaking some eggs. All we can hope is that peace will come from the war. Remember seeing all the media from WW1 and WW2? Everyone supported the war and the soldiers. Vietnam was the first war to show footage that wasn’t staged, and all that did was ruin the mindset of the reasons we were there. John Kerry and many others came back only to stab there fellow soldiers in the back with a knife by protesting the war they served.
My dad is a Vietnam Veteran who served two tours of duty as a Dustoff medic. He saw the absolute worst. He did that job so many soldiers could come home, and he also sent a lot of bodies home to there families. He did this service only to come home and get spit on while wearing his Class A’s and be called a baby killer. Some support for the troops, huh?
Now ya got me all worked up icon_cheesygrin.gif
