I couldn’t figure out how to rate the show.

No problem, I can help! All you have to do is click the Insert Message dropdown and click the Rate The Show link once. That will place a bunch of premade text into your box. You can then click on each line and type your rating for each of the areas after the premade text. Here’s a screenshot:

Thanks Marshall! I’m going to see about printing some big copies of it. I think the coolest part about it is the tire. It looks almost wet and the detail is pretty interesting.

    Ryan,
I actually balanced the camera on the seat of my foldup chair. I’m thinking of bringing my tripod to future shows and that will make it easier. My camera has a setting called Auto Bracket which takes 3 pictures in rapid succession at 3 different exposures. Because they were all taken within a split second of each other, that guy didn’t have a chance to move

    Specific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – A – very easy to go to from Madison and it was well marked
Parking Location – A – all areas of the parking lot are nice and they space the cars out well, about a stall and a half
Class Organization – ?? – like circletrack said you didn’t select a class on your form, but there were classes??
    Trophies & Prizes – A
Food – A – nice variety even popcorn and a pork roast
Entertainment – D – I didn’t hear much variety, for a lot of it it seems like they alternated between The Beatles and The Beach Boys every other track. I like both of these groups a lot but its nice to see a wider variety of music
Judging – B – I didn’t stay for the awards but it seemed like they were judging, though it seems they spent more time on some cars than others. Also I think putting the “award” stickers on the windshield is a nice touch, that way you know if you’ve won in case you want to take off early
    Dash Plaque – A – nice
Variety of Cars – A+! As always there’s cars-a-plenty at Automotion. I noticed many very nice hot rods, moreso than other years
Bathrooms – C – Good but they used to have some more on the lower parking lot, which were missing this year
Weather – B – nice but rain in the afternoon, not too hot though!
    Trophy Presentation Timing – N/A didn’t stay
    Entry Fee – C – $15
Overall Rating:A This is a very fun show and a great start to the season. I am always amazed at the sheer number of cars and how all of them are high quality which really makes it enjoyable!

Thanks for the info, this looks interesting! I tried the site but nothing comes up. I did a whois lookup and it looks like its owned by someone in Albuquerque NM:

Do you think the domain is a different one?

Glad you liked the pics. I’ll be sure and take plenty more at Automotion. I was trying out a new color setting on my camera when taking the Cars on State photos and I don’t know if its just me, but the colors in the photos seem more vibrant that usual. I think I’ll stick with the new setting!

As a suggestion from GTO Man, we’ve created a new section of the forum dedicated to discussing how to improve gas mileage and talk about alternative fuels. Check it out and tell us your tricks/tips:

    Rate The Cruise Night:
Accessibility (easy to get to): A
Parking Location: B – Nice setup as usual, some close together
Entertainment: A – good music and outside now so that is an improvement from last year
    Food: B-
    Prizes: N/A
    Timing (day/hours): B
    Variety of Cars (week-to-week): A
Suggestions: It was a good show overall, excellent for May with 60-70 cars. I thought the idea of having the voting table for participant-picked best of show out on the parking lot makes a lot of sense because now many more people will see it and vote.

    Overall Rating: B-

Good point. There were also 2 black 57 Thunderbirds. I was pleased to see that Studebaker Hawk there, that was a nice rarity. I’ll have the pics that Ryan and I took up soon

    Specific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – B
Parking Location – C – okay but visitor parking was far and it would be hard to leave if you had a car there
    Class Organization – N/A
    Trophies & Prizes – N/A
Food – B – farmer’s market at the square and shops on state street
    Entertainment – N/A
    Judging – N/A
    Dash Plaque – N/A
Variety of Cars – B – a nice variety, not many 70s models though
    Bathrooms – D – didn’t see any portajohns
    Weather – B – overcast and cool
    Trophy Presentation Timing – N/A
    Entry Fee – A – free
Overall Rating: B- Overall a nice show; it was hindered a little by the construction on the first block of State Street but they compensated for it by extending cars onto a couple of the intersecting streets. A nice variety of cars and well setup.

That is a little over a 4% increase over night.

I wonder if they can do that to my salary too….

Let me know too if you figure out how :haha:

Does anyone have any updates on this show? Last time I checked, State Street was completely torn up. Are they going to have that construction all done by next weekend?
