Y’all didn’t miss anything. 9 cars, no beaters. Best of show went to a really nice 72 Camaro.

    Thanks for a wonderful year.

Tonigt is it. The final car cruise in of the season. Gosh, it all went so fast. It seems like just a few weeks ago that we pulled the cars out of storage. Oh wait…it was. Where is this Global warming?

Well, I guess I need to get my costume ready for POS night / Scareaoke. I hope to see a least some of you tonight for one last night of laughs and smiles. At least Mother Nature decided to give me (relatively) good weather.

That dash is a chore! I would recommend having it re-done by a place in California called Just Dashes.

Just dashes is for the guages, which is another project later down the road. My concern right now is just the pad, which I can order thru Year One.

I always like to watch the Barrett/Jackson auction. It is a baromtere of what the car hobby is valued at for many of the cars we all love. This year 2009 Dodge Challenger number one is going to be auctioned, which is of interest to me.

I have heard that last year was up around 3500. But that is only what I have been told, I do not know facts. You can check hotrod.com. They have more info.

And this is the last QSL cruise for the year. POS night. If you want to bring your beauty out one last time, please do so. If you want to drive a beater, do that as well. Wear a costume and be even more fun. I hope to see you all one more time before we all hibernate with our babies.

I hope to do a couple of things. I hope to rebuild the front suspension, replace the bumpers, a new dash pad, and if I can afford it a new exhaust.

It doesn’t. and won’t, make any difference. Now they just drive without licenses. If we make them get licenses, they will just give false info and drive without a care anyway. Where will there be an improvement?

This year was definitely a success. We did not know how moving the cruise to Thursday night (from Sunday afternoon) would be accepted. We were hoping for around 40 to 50 cars each week, and were definitely overwhelmed with the nearly 100 cars each week!!

I definitely have some ideas in the hopper to improve next year and make it more enjoyable for everyone. A “theme” or “brand” night is going to happen. I will be designating the last Thursday each month to a certain car brand. I am thinking Ford, Chevy, and Mopar and then a combination of Buick, Pontiac and Oldsmobile would fill out the four good months of summer that we have. Next year I hope to get some dealers involved with those “brand nights” as well with some give aways. Now is such an exciting time with the new wave of muscle cars being released next year. I hope I can get some of that excitement for the QS&L friends.

I will try again to get Good Guys involved again. I honestly enjoyed being able to give four deserving car lovers entrance to the show, as well as all of the T-shirts I gave out. I am also trying to get other events. I am going to try to get more vendors involved. Everybody enjoyed the Blue Chip, Kelly Moss and House of Horsepower nights.

As I have already said, but will never get sick of saying, thank you everyone who came out this year. You all made this a very enjoyable summer for me.

And weather is definitely not helping. Cold and wet doesn’t make me want to bring my car out.

You can add the Rallye Bleu Mont cruise on Sunday

Yes, the garage does have heat. We keep the garage open all year long on Tuesday (all you can eat wings), Friday and Saturday. Thursday October 25 will probably be the last Thursday that the garage will be open until spring.

I hope it will be fun. I have had a few people say that they are looking forward to POS night, and have received a few phone calls also. That night is also our “Scareoke” night with costumes in the karaoke area. I hope some of you can come out, wear a costume, and drive a beater.

This year I didn’t give myself much time to attend any shows, that is something I will change next year. I definitely want to attend Belvidere and at least a few others.

I like the idea of swapping venues every other week. That will keep it more interesting and should bring in more variety of cars. Good luck with next year.

Well, It looks like the show season is definitely coming to an end. I think this past week will have been the last good weather day we will see. I will continue doing the Lube cruise-in thru October as long as the weather is at least tolerable (read not raining) with a final night of something different on October 25th.

October 25th I am going to do an anti-car show car show. I am calling it a POS night…and a costume night for Halloween. Wear a costume and bring your winter beater, rust bucket, daily driven, don’t care if it gets a door ding, pile of stuff. All vehicles must be drivable, no trailered or towed in vehicles. I will be re-working one of my best of show plaques for this night. Let’s make the end of the season a party and have some laughs since most of us won’t see each other again until next spring.

I hope to see you all. And if I don’t let me say thank you all for an exceptionally fun summer.

It really amazes me that the “American” car companies can’t understand why the “Imports” are always having a larger share of the market…yet it seems so simple to us.

    Imports sell because:
    a) they are affordable to the average person
    b) the are economical
    c) they are reliable. Heck I got 208,000 miles (very abusive miles I might add) out of my Nissan pickup without any major repairs. And my maxima had over 250,000 before I rebuilt that. And that is common

I think if the “American” companies did what the imports do they would not all be on the verge of bankruptcy.
