Gee I went by Starks in Sun Prairie today.. they had a silver one sitting outside..Guess it is already unveiled!
XmanParticipantDay late, dollar short..maybe we’ll be blessed to see some at the local shows in the special interest classes..LMAO:silly:
XmanParticipantI thought I heard the Hooters girls were going to be at QS&L last night..hmmm
XmanParticipantYep I’ll be staying away from that Fiasco…
XmanParticipantJust for the hell of it one day while reading the local Sun Prairie paper court news. I noticed a bunch of people names who were ticked for driving without a license. So I decided to look them up on the States circuit court web page. These people don’t care to ever pay their tickets. They had multiple tickets and just keep driving. I guess sooner or later they’ll put them in jail and give em a free meal too. Or deport them..

Quote:Im all for action.Yes the import crowd has gotten a bad rap…mainly for a lot of young kids being incredibly stupid. However it has stereotyped the group as a whole and the madison cops are on that bandwagon. And that makes it incredibly frustrating for the younger car crowd to have any incentive to get involved in the scene.
I mean, why would kids want to be involved in a scene where a pair of cops tear apart an interior that took 2 weeks to fabricate and cost a couple grand?..all without any real reason (i dont do or transport drugs, so there would be no reason for suspicion).
Madison has this self-righteous mentality that it is the world’s Pleasantville…when in fact is is far from it. Yes, there are some liberal trends that are due to it being a major college town…but the government here is anything but liberal. If it upsets the “established order” it is deemed bad…which is exactly what they are doing with the anti-cruising campaign.
It is just like when some of us were kids cruising the square, there are always a handful of idiots that screw it up for everyone else. Bringing out Mom’s car and trying to melt the tires. I must say it may have been a bit easier to melt the one rear tire on Mom’s Big Block station wagon in the early 70’s..:woohoo:

Quote:GTO Man,I think this news has worsened. I thought I heard late last week that GM was totally ceasing production of the Pontiac line, effective this coming Monday, April 27th, when the last Pontiac will roll off of the assembly line.
General Motors Corp. has announced plans to further reduce its work force, plant operations and dealership network as the carmaker seeks to remain viable.
Also, the automaker will now shutter the Pontiac brand and emphasize four core brands — Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC.
Details were outlined Monday as GM also filed a plan to exchange $27.2 billion of bonds with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. GM is facing a June 1 deadline by the Obama administration or the company may face bankruptcy. Already GM has received $15.4 billion from the federal government while trying to remain solvent.
The added cuts call for reducing the total number of assembly, powertrain, and stamping plants in the U.S. from 47 in 2008 to 34 by the end of 2010 — a reduction of 28 percent, and down to 31 by 2012.
“We don’t know what impact, if any, this might have on the Tonawanda plant,” said spokeswoman Nina Price. “That’s something we’re trying to determine right now.”
The company’s hourly employment roll would drop by another 34 percent, or about 21,000 workers, to 40,000. GM assumes a reduction of U.S. hourly labor costs from $7.6 billion in 2008 to $5 billion in 2010. GM said it will continue to work with the United Auto Workers to accomplish those cuts through modifications in the collective bargaining agreement.
GM plans to slash its U.S. dealer count from 6,246 in 2008 to 3,605 by the end of 2010, a reduction of 42 percent. That is a further cut of 500 dealers, and four years sooner, than previously announced in February.

Quote:It seems like this makes the news every couple of years. I can remember 15 years ago when I was in High School the cops would monitor the cars and if they saw your car more then 3 times drive by the same spot they would give you a ticket. Back in the early 60’s my Dad was doing the same thing but the cruising route went around the Capitol.Let’s hope their next sting doesn’t happen during the weekend of the Hot Rod Power Tour!
They had a “STING” last night on the Wash, at hwy 30, Cop was sitting in lawn chair with his radar gun, in front of the Capitol Ford Cars sales place. This was at 3:30ish. They were targeting incoming cars so be careful if you have to drive through there..

Very little respect is given to the home built car. It is primarily Vette, Mustang, Vette, Mustang, Challenger (new one), and another Vette.
Amen to that Jon!
I have to add an Amen to that one also…
QSL does nothing for me!
A friend and myself regularly cruise up to Baraboo on Wednesday nights. They have a group of car people there, that now call themselves Classic Cruisers. They welcome anyone to cruise with them, they meet at 6 pm at the parking lot across from the Shell station on hwy 12. At 6:30 they cruise for an hour to a different restaurant every week. It is always a great time plus a different place every week….
XmanParticipantOMG, I did not see this post until today… I was very close to being a juror on that trial. The week they picking jurors, I did get sequestered for a day. I did get a free meal out of the deal..
However it was a long week….
XmanParticipantThat is pretty kewl, my daughter is in Paris now for spring break.. When she returns I’ll have to ask her how crazy the drivers are..LOL
XmanParticipantSome good reading on the Tucker Fourm:laugh:
XmanParticipantI’ve been going to Iola since 1982, wouldn’t miss it rain or shine. I’m not really looking for anything unless something jumps out at me..I just like looking at all the stuff.
XmanParticipantI always liked the 1976 Nova’s the Madison Police had. You could hear them get second gear scratch when they would crank on them.. They did not have a lot of HP but they worked out well for the City..
XmanParticipantI don’t think he wants any little Taco’s running around..lol :woohoo:
