See You Down The Road

After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

My worst experience was seeing all the bias in the judges at local car shows.

This did not happen to me, but just seeing some of the cars they pick over others in a class is just wrong. I seem to recall a one show when the awards announcer said: “Best of show goes to this young fella whom I’ve known since he was in diapers” I know some of you were there also. There were many cars a lot nicer then the one picked. I just think if you are going to be a judge be a non-biased one.

Works the same for me… No speed problems. I use Safari and sometimes Firefox. I must say I was hesitant about joining another automotive forum. I belong to many of them that offer a lot of good automotive info. The last thing I needed was another place to chat. I do find the car show information here very useful. I would like to thank the Admins. for providing this place to vent either good or bad. It takes a lot of commitment to host a web page and keep it updated on a regular basis. THANK YOU

Someone should ask GoodGuys why they are not scheduled. See what their answer is.

    True,

I see Des Moines, IA and Joliet, IL are on the list for next year. Guess those are in close enough proximity that they don’t need a third one. It was just nice not having to drive far for a National event. I did hear the Power tour is starting June 6th in Madison. thumbsup.gif

I agree and would add I’ve never seen that car around Madison, at any of the shows or even “cruising” around.

    It’s interesting…. to say the least! dontknow.gif

Actually I think it may be this car..

example: Lets say there is a class called Mustangs stock, all years…and there is a 2008 Foose Mustang and a fully numbers matching 1968 Mustang Fastback that was fully restored…The 1968 gets the win because there was work involved, whereas the 2008 is fresh from the show room.

Now, Im by no means trying to defend the judging this past weekend, cuz there were a lot of questionable issues. Im just offering my perspective on judging in general.

    Good answer,

People who drive them new cars to a show should just get a slap on the back and a thanks for bringing your car…. The people who actually wrench on there cars deserve the awards…
