Thank you. I am happy that the process for registering a collector vehicle is now better defined and will include a broader spectrum of cars.

Ok this was a good bill. I have a question about what is going to happen to vehicles already with collector plates on? I have 2 currently and have had plates on one since the mid 80’s and the other since the late 90’s. Both are younger than the antiques, will I have to renew my current registration, to become compliant? Lifetime is only until the goverment changes something, and then we have to reach into our wallets and pay some more.

Very interesting lists. I have had some vehicles I wish I would have kept and some I don’t understand why I ever owned them. I lean heavily towards Ford products but I appreciate most other brands, even if their not around anymore.
    1. Thunderbolt or any early 60’s lightweight Galaxies. I had a 427 Galaxy with a transplanted 390 when I was at NWTC in GB.
    2. Avanti strange looking to some, but just don’t see them.
    3. Buick GS or GSX. Always was humbled by the torque of the Buick
    4. Another 4×4 fullsize van. I had a 1979 GMC and wish I had one now, a Ford though.
    5. Any early Mopar from the mid 60’s with those long Hurst shifters and 383/440 under the hood.
    6. S/C Rambler or the Time Machine both were so different.
    7. 1972-76 Ford Highboy. Back when 4×4’s were so basic.
    8. 240Z just fun to drive. Had a 280Z. They were bloated and never quite like the original.
    9. A convertible, big block, 4spd, fullsize, midsize, or pony. I never had one.
    10. Any Shelby with the blue oval. No Dakota’s, no Omni’s, no Aurora V8’s. Whether a Cobra roadster, an early Mustang or the current model built in Vegas. I had a ’70 which wasn’t a true Shelby. Still would like to have another, but this time not a Ford built one.
    11. I would find room to for any brand with a blower sticking thru the hood.
The list is kind of long, but there are so many cars and trucks that you just don’t see that in their day were awesome vehicles. Living here in the rust belt those old pieces of iron disappeared to fast.

The spike in sales might be that GE has put a ton of these into their employees hands for business and personnel use. They have charging stations in Waukesha and Milwaukee. I imagine Madison as well.

Cruise o matic was a 3 spd auto with 2 different detents in drive. Ford o matic was a 2 spd with just P R N D L. No need to raise it up if you can look inside and tell. With the cruiseomatic, either you started in 2nd, white dot or started in 1st, green dot.

We were in Vegas this fall and saw a handful of some of what will be the big dollar cars at Scottsdale. Craig Jackson is thinning his collection which makes me wonder what he’s replacing it with. We’ve been to Scottsdale 3 times and Vegas was our first. I’ll never go back to Vegas. Way too much “hiking”. In 100+ heat when we were there I’m glad it was a “dry” heat and not Wisconsin humid. If you ever get the chance to go, it’s worth it just to take it all in. We’re planning on Scottsdale next year already.

He sold off Saleen and started SMS. Saleen Mustangs in the mid OO’s were far from what they once were. Not sure what ever happened to his “supercar”.

I agree about 99%. Because of my choice in careers from time to time I have to be on the phone while driving. I am required to spend money and purchase and use a headset. The problem I notice more from my vantage point driving down the road is not so much the talking as the texting. Really both aren’t good but you can always pick out a texter. Like guns, when they’re outlawed only outlaws will have them.

Why question the obvious here and just ask the one who judged the car. Seems simple to me. The problem seems to be between who judged it so low and you, not pointing this out to the rest of us.

Simplifing the classes and making less would weed out the also-rans. You have to compete against “similar” year & model cars. If only 3 show up or 30 show up your still being judged which is a wildcard in itself. Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I know human nature plays into this as we all have our likes and dislikes. Have 1 class that mural, pinstriped, weird cars are put in to compete against themselves. Call it strangest of the show or weird but true and let it be. We used to race motocross. We quite going years ago cuz there was an “F”ing class for everything and everyone. Yup, so your not so good rider would go home with plastic. They kept coming back and back and back. The days got longer and longer till sitting around from early morning till early evening waiting to race our motos got tiring and boring. Trust me, that will happen at car shows when you have all these classes and putting in 9-11 hours waiting for that great plastic trophy gets old.

Maybe some of you have, or some might work for the PO. You all should be commended, especially the lucky ones that get to walk in the “hood”. I have been to 3 of the many bulk mail centers scattered across the country. Denver, Chicago, and Detroit. It amazes me that we get any mail. Lazy, useless, rude, and maybe alittle of the “union attitude”. Trust me it’s not what the general public sees on a daily basis. I’ve been in multipule Ford plants also, back in the 80’s, things I’m sure have gotten better, but the workers at the automobile plant were much busier than any bulk mail center employee. Union plus goverment makes for some very interesting putting in my time employees. I’m not jealous, I’m sad to think of all the hard working people making far less that could fill these jobs better.

A new Camaro? Seldomly driven cars? I guess I wouldn’t drive my goverment issue flop around either.

retire, and move to a state where the property taxes are attentable without robbing a bank. Unless there is a big change it what it costs “just” to own a home, count me out in this state. It is way to costly on a fixed income to pay for heat utilities, taxes and groceries.
